1900s Jacobean Buffet

~ ‘Ville de Paris’ ~
This antique Empire buffet has been transformed into a French Country Farmhouse versatile piece ~ sideboard / buffet / coffee bar station / kitchen island / TV stand …
The Empire Furniture Company was founded in the 1800s in Huntington, West Virginia and sold to a businessman in 1905 whom later renamed the company to Huntington Furniture Corp during the late 1930s. An Empire buffet likely features solid cherry drawers, dovetailing and pin and mortised joints. The company’s vintage and antique pieces are well-known for their durability, their use of high-quality cherry, and mahogany wood.
Meticulously hand painted with General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint using a wiped-back technique allowing the natural wood to show through. A vintage Ville de Paris rooster decoupage paper applied to the front of the two middle drawers. Hand painted French stencils applied to the front of the cabinet doors. Details enhanced with a custom blend of Modern Master’s Champagne, Silver and Oyster Metallics, and Dixie Belle’s Steel Magnolia and Pacific Moonshine Metallics. The old drawer pulls and knobs replaced with ancient silver colored hardware.
